When you are evaluating the top antivirus, make sure you look at the entire package. This includes the program’s performance in third-party tests and also what it does to protect your privacy. For instance, certain antivirus programs are bundled with potentially unwanted programs, or PUPs. These are applications that change your user experience in unintentional ways, for example, by displaying advertisements or switching your default search engine. They can also consume resources or install additional applications without your permission. G Data does a good job in keeping the amount of these invasive applications to a minimum but it doesn’t have the ability to block them from being completely.

Anti-spam protection keeps your inbox clean and parental control lets you monitor your children’s online usage.

The software allows cloud backup and shredding so that deleted files cannot be recovered by criminals. It also comes with an ad-blocker and a fire wall that monitors all data sent and received for spyware and hackers. You can also add a VPN package to your package. The menus were a bit difficult to navigate. The menu titles don’t always appear immediately and switching between modules is a bit slow.
