Avast Ultimate is a security software with a high detection ratio and a host of other features. Its malware scanner earned an excellent score in my tests and its web security blocked a variety of phishing websites that slipped past Chrome and Firefox’s default protections. Other features include a Rescue Disk, a secure browser for online banking and shopping, advanced tracker blocking and a VPN.

The user interface of the suite is simple to navigate. The main screen shows icons that clearly describe the purpose of each tool. Avast utilizes an orange, blue and white color scheme that’s pleasing to the eyes and easy to read.
